Exhibits/Mostre d’Arte

Memorial of a Fall (Commemorazione di un Crollo), 2024

This set of paintings—Crollo I, II, and III—is a triptych depicting the island of Santa Maria dell’Isola before the April 7 collapse of a section of the cliff, the day after the collapse, and a few days later after a second collapse. The set is a memorial, a marker in the sand, a historical record of a changing climate and changing geological structures—structures that were once foundations of our landscapes. Landscapes that have now become dreamscapes. This exhibit also included a series of monoprint studies of the three paintings. They are acrylic on canvas.

Sun Dial (Quadrante Solare), 2023

This series studies the shadow of this tree across this facade of this church (in Largo Gesuiti, Tropea). It’s called “quadrante solare,” or “sun dial.” It follows the movement of the sun, across the sky, throughout the year and throughout the day. These are mixed media of oil and ink.

A Door in Zungri (Una Porta a Zungri), 2022

Located in Zungri (VV), Calabria, this painted door was part of a project called “I vecchi portoni raccontano (The Old Doors Tell Their Stories),” which aimed to revitalize the historic part of town. Participants “adopted” a door, on which they interpreted, using their own technique and style, the cultural and social identity of the Zungri area. These works are a project of the Museo della civiltà rupestre e contadina di Zungri (The Museum of the Cave and Peasant Civilization of Zungri).

Calabrese Tiles (Piastrelle della Calabria), 2023

These “Calabrese Tiles” were created for a bar in Tropea, dal barONE, on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, 58, 89861 Tropea (VV), Italy. The dal barONE tables and signs are inspired by the tiles of Calabria – the history and style of the colorful, handcrafted tiles that were made and used throughout Calabria’s rich history, especially during the years when Calabria (including Tropea) was an important part of the Kingdom of Naples and the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies.

At Ambrosia (All’Ambrosia), 2025

This is a permanent exhibit at the Tropean restaurant, Ambrosia. It includes a selection of works showcasing Tropea over the years. It is located at Largo Tommaso Toraldo Grimaldi, 3, 89861 Tropea (VV), Italy.

At Caffè del Corso (Al Caffè del Corso), 2023

This painting of the main cliffside of Tropea is on permanent exhibit at Caffè del Corso in Tropea. Located at Corso Vittorio Emanuele, 14, 89861 Tropea (VV), Italy.

At the Minimarket da Massimo (Al Minimarket da Massimo), 2024
