These are my paintings.
These are of Tropea, Italy – the historical center, the cliffside, the hillside. I am currently using the originals for research and study, but you may purchase prints and other items via my INPRNT account.
Memorial of a Fall (Commemorazione di un Crollo), 2024
This set of paintings—Crollo I, II, and III—is a triptych depicting the landfall of the Santuario di Santa Maria dell’Isola in Tropea before the April 7 collapse, the day after the collapse, and a few days later after a second collapse. The set is a memorial, a marker in the sand, a historical record of a changing climate and changing geological structures—structures that were once foundations of our landscapes. Landscapes that have now become dreamscapes. This exhibit also included a series of monoprint studies of the three paintings. They are acrylic on canvas. Link to the exhibit page here.

Quadrante Solare (Sun Dial), 2023
This series studies the shadow of this tree across this facade of this church (in Largo Gesuiti, Tropea). It’s called “quadrante solare,” or “sun dial.” It follows the movement of the sun, across the sky, throughout the year and throughout the day. These are mixed media of oil and ink. Link to the exhibit page here.

Calabrese Tiles/Piastrelle della Calabria, 2023
These “Calabrese Tiles/Piastrelle della Calabria” were created for a Tropean bar, dal barONE and are inspired by the tiles of Calabria – the history and style of the colorful, handcrafted tiles that were made and used throughout Calabria’s rich history, especially during the years when Calabria (including Tropea) was an important part of the Kingdom of Naples and the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. Link to the exhibit page here.

Tropea Cliffside, 2022
These are a set of oils painted in Late Summer, 2022. Tropea, Italy. It was an attempt to learn how to paint the rocky cliffsides that line the beaches. The plant is an agave flower or as it’s known here, “Asparacara” (in the asparagus family).

Early Summer, 2022

Early Sketches, 2020-1
These are the first paintings and sketches I painted (after 20 years of not painting).

Cipolla Rossa di Tropea, 2020
The Cipolla Rossa, or red onion of Tropea is famous. When I moved here to begin painting, I decided to start with painting the onions. It made as much sense as any other decision I had made in my life up until that point.
